About Us
Founded in 1987, Disley Cricket Club is now a leading community cricket club which has been designated a focus club by the England & Wales Board to be a hub of the community network for cricket development, particularly for the benefit of children and young people. The Club has achieved Clubmark Accreditation by demonstrating that best practices are in place to develop and deliver high quality community cricket in a safe, effective and child-friendly way.
Disley Cricket Club is supervised by a Management Committee consisting of elected and voluntary Members whose mandate is to carry out the wishes of the members and the Club operates with an open constitution as well as a constantly updating five year development plan.
The Club runs several sides of varying age groups, with four senior teams. The 1stXI and 2ndXI play in the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League, part of the Cheshire Integrated League Structure, whilst the Sunday Social XI and mid-week Twenty20 side play competitive friendlies against local Clubs. Juniors from U11, U13, U15 and U17 age groups play in either the Cheshire County Cricket League, the highest standard of youth cricket in Cheshire, or the Cheshire High Peak Junior Cricket League.
All players have access to coaching from an ever-expanding team of ECB-qualified coaches, with training sessions for all sides running throughout the summer as well as an extensive schedule of pre-season nets. High quality youth development ensures that many young cricketers play in senior cricket for Disley and cricketers of all abilities are encouraged to realise their personal potential and to contribute to team success.
Disley Cricket Club is a section of the Disley Amalgamated Sports Club and plays all of its home fixtures on the DASC groud located on Jacksons Edge. For more information about sport at the DASC you can visit disleysport.org.
